Two large traders on Hyperliquid adjusted their exposure to U.S. equity indexes between the release of the Producer Price Index and the upcoming Consumer Price Index data, building combined short positions worth about $36.882 million in XYZ100 and SP500 contracts. One whale had previously been flat and began opening a short in XYZ100 after the PPI release. The address sold short 500 contracts with total turnover of about $14.508 million at an average entry level of roughly 29,015.81 points. At the time of writing, the trader was still holding the full XYZ100 short, with position value near $14.536 million and an unrealized loss of about $28,000. The account had also placed a trigger take-profit market order at 28,800 points, around 0.9% away from the current price. A second whale had earlier closed roughly 500 XYZ100 short contracts for an estimated profit of $253,000, then shifted risk exposure to SP500. That address built 2,942.73 short contracts with turnover of about $22.375 million and an average entry level near 7,603.33 points. The SP500 short was valued at about $22.353 million, showing an unrealized profit of around $22,000, while the trader still retained a plan to add roughly $1.384 million more to the short side.
