DeFi researcher Ignas said the usual "buy the dip" chatter has become far less common on social platforms during the current market decline, pointing to weaker risk appetite across crypto. While some market participants still see Bitcoin holding the $77,000 to $80,000 range as a bullish sign, he said many traders may already be heavily exposed to tokens, limiting fresh buying power. Ignas added that some investors would rather wait for price strength to be confirmed before entering again than try to catch a falling market during a panic. He also noted that a few assets still stand out, including HYPE as an asset that has decoupled from Bitcoin, as well as ZEC and other conviction-driven tokens, alongside income-generating assets such as HYPE. At the same time, he argued that underlying demand remains thin. Retail investors that had previously favored crypto are now being pulled by volatility in AI stocks, gold, and quantum computing-related assets. He also said crypto ETF flows have turned into net outflows over the past 30 days.

DeFi researcher Ignas said in a post that the familiar "buy the dip" calls have become much less visible on social platforms during the current market sell-off.

According to Ignas, some market participants still view Bitcoin holding the $77,000 to $80,000 range as a bullish signal. Even so, he said many crypto traders may already be holding large token positions, leaving less room for additional buying. Some investors, he added, would rather wait for prices to confirm an uptrend before buying again than step in during panic selling.

Ignas also pointed to a group of assets that he said still retain appeal, including HYPE as an asset moving independently from Bitcoin, as well as conviction-driven tokens such as ZEC and income-generating assets such as HYPE.

He said potential buying interest is still limited. Retail investors that had previously favored crypto are being affected by volatility in AI stocks, gold, and quantum computing-related assets. Over the past 30 days, flows into crypto exchange-traded funds have also shifted to net outflows.
