Interactive Brokers has expanded its agentic trading lineup by adding ChatGPT and Grok alongside Claude, which was integrated earlier. At the same time, the broker widened the list of supported instruments beyond stocks and ETFs to include options, futures, and futures options. Existing IBKR clients can use the feature without opening a new account or paying extra fees.
Three AI models now connect through one execution flow
According to the company’s announcement, users can link ChatGPT, Grok, or Claude through each platform’s approved AI connector marketplace while staying inside their current IBKR account setup. Interactive Brokers said passwords and API keys are not shared with AI providers. Any trade instruction generated by an AI tool is routed to the “AI Instructions” tab, where the client must review and approve it before anything reaches the market.
The setup keeps humans in the final decision loop. AI can propose trades, but execution still requires an explicit user action.
Support now reaches into derivatives trading
The product update goes beyond adding more models. Interactive Brokers also opened agentic trading to asset classes that were previously excluded from the feature set. With options, futures, and futures options now included, AI-generated instructions can cover markets that carry more complex payoff structures and more pronounced leverage than ordinary stock trades.
Chief Executive Officer Milan Galik said in a statement that investor interest in interacting with financial markets through AI continues to grow. He said the addition of ChatGPT and Grok, together with support for options and futures, expands the ways clients can safely connect AI tools across research, analysis, and execution. He also said the firm plans to broaden both functionality and asset coverage over time.
Brokers are taking different approaches to AI order entry
Across the brokerage industry, Interactive Brokers is part of a smaller group willing to let AI-generated instructions reach the execution layer. The report notes that Robinhood launched agentic trading on May 27, 2026, integrating Claude and ChatGPT for its 27 million users. By contrast, Fidelity and Schwab offer ChatGPT access through the third-party service Truthifi, but only in a read-only format that allows account queries and market lookups rather than order placement.
That split shows a clear difference in how firms are setting boundaries around AI. Interactive Brokers and Robinhood permit trade-ready instructions with a manual approval step, while Fidelity and Schwab keep AI confined to information access.
Manual approval remains the last control point
Interactive Brokers said its broader AI toolkit includes AI Screeners, Investment Themes, Connections, Ask IBKR, and AI News Summaries, creating a workflow that runs from information filtering to execution. The company is an S&P 500 component and provides automated trade execution across more than 170 markets, serving individual investors, hedge funds, and proprietary trading groups.
Still, manual confirmation does not remove trading risk. That is especially true in derivatives, where users may approve a suggestion without fully understanding the exposure behind it. The report also said Google Gemini is in the certification process and may be added to the Interactive Brokers integration list.
