IPX has introduced a patent-pending KPI-Gated Escrow system that it plans to roll out with its platform launch on Nov. 15, 2026. The mechanism is designed for crowdfunding and sponsorship payments tied to video games, video production, and other original intellectual property projects. Under the setup, funds raised on IPX are held in a non-custodial, rewards-generating USDC escrow through a dedicated smart contract and released only when agreed milestones are met. According to the company, creators must submit a detailed line-item budget before a raise begins. IPX said its AI agent, Alfred, programs those budget items into a CertiK-audited smart contract linked to platform milestones. In one example, money allocated to hire an actor or executive producer would not be released until that person creates an IPX profile, completes KYC, and signs a contract through IPXSIGN. IPX said the process is intended to add transparency, accountability, and reliability for both creators and backers. The company also said the system will cover sponsorship campaigns, where budgets are paid out in stages against agreed deliverables or performance targets such as CPM goals on social posts or branded YouTube videos. Requests, approvals, and payments will be recorded on IPX and Base L2, allowing token holders to track disbursements as projects move forward.

IPX has outlined a patent-pending KPI-Gated Escrow system that it plans to use when its platform launches on Nov. 15, 2026, tying crowdfunding and sponsorship funds for video games, video production, and related projects to agreed milestones on-platform. Under the model, money raised on IPX is released automatically once predefined KPIs and milestone conditions are met.

The company said the structure is meant to better protect retail users and discourage bad actors by adding more transparency, accountability, and reliability to both crowdfunding and on-chain capital raises. Project proceeds, according to IPX, are held in a non-custodial, rewards-generating USDC escrow through a dedicated smart contract.

Budgets are encoded before a raise starts

Before fundraising begins, creators must submit a detailed line-item budget showing the intended use of proceeds. IPX said its AI agent, Alfred, programs that budget into a CertiK-audited smart contract linked to milestones on the platform.

For film production, the company gave an example in which funds earmarked to hire an actor or executive producer can only be released after those individuals create a profile on IPX, complete KYC, and sign their contract through IPXSIGN. Once those milestones are satisfied, the funds unlock automatically and become available for transfer by the creator. IPX said the process runs agentically and automatically, without human gatekeepers.

McCafferty says the goal is to bring VC-style accountability to creative funding

Brendan McCafferty, CEO and founder of IPX, said: 「As a creator first, I have experienced the struggles with raising capital for novel IP. IP inherently is a risk-on asset that’s difficult to quantify and project how the market and fans will react to it. We created the KPI-Gated Escrow as a means of bringing the same level of accountability that VCs demand in use of proceeds to the creative process.」

He added: 「We’ve seen Netflix producers run off with tens of millions that were embezzled for Rolls-Royces and a pricey divorce when they were intended for a new sci-fi universe. Bad actors like this increasingly make it more difficult for genuine filmmakers and creators to get funding. Our KPI-Gated Escrow would have prevented that embezzlement. We believe this is the future of financing based on radical transparency and accountability for all. By fostering a culture based on greater trust through tech, in turn more capital flows and is available for creatives to create.」

Production budgets and sponsorship campaigns

Production budgets

IPX said that once a project completes its raise and meets the platform’s graduation requirements, its cash-out production budget moves into escrow. Releases are tied to agreed conditions, including a contract being signed, a crew being booked, or a vendor being engaged. The platform reviews and approves milestone evidence before funds are released.

Sponsorship campaigns

For sponsorship campaigns, budgets are held in escrow and paid out in stages against agreed deliverables or performance targets. Each release is tied to the conditions set for that campaign. IPX said those conditions could include CPM targets being met on a live social post or a branded YouTube video. The company added that IPX Creator OS social-listening AI can detect that performance and automatically release the funds.

Verification flow

IPX said the sponsorship workflow is designed to use an AI-assisted verification oracle to compare campaign performance with agreed KPIs, with a human co-signature required before funds are released.

Records will be written on IPX and Base L2

Requests, approvals, and payments will be recorded on IPX and Base L2, the company said, allowing token holders to follow disbursements as a project progresses.

IPX said the model is intended to connect funding decisions to documented progress throughout a production or campaign, rather than releasing the full budget to a production at the outset. For creators, that sets a funding schedule tied to the work ahead. For sponsors and project participants, it offers visibility into the conditions attached to each payment.

Part of a broader IPX product stack

The company said KPI-Gated Escrow is part of its broader operating system, launchpad, and exchange for ICOs, financing, producing, sponsoring, and distributing original intellectual property. More information is available at www.ipx.exchange.
