Odaily reported, citing Chinese state broadcaster CCTV, that Iranian authorities on July 26 quoted the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as saying its navy is maintaining continuous patrols and surveillance across roughly 240,000 square kilometers of waters in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. According to the statement, vessels that do not accept and follow rules and order set by Iran will not be able to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. The Revolutionary Guard also said U.S. forces had attempted to change the route of ships, but the vessels turned back after Iran issued warning fire. The statement added that, over the past 24 hours, six ships were forced to anchor and stop after receiving warnings from the Revolutionary Guard and then followed Iranian instructions.

According to the IRGC statement, six vessels over the past 24 hours were forced to anchor and stop after receiving warnings, and then accepted related instructions from Iran.
