Iran’s Mehr News Agency, cited by Odaily, reported on Aug. 2 that an Iranian military official rejected U.S. President Donald Trump’s claim that Iran had asked for attacks to stop, calling it “a new lie.” According to the report, the official said Iranian forces are on the highest level of alert and are prepared for all possible scenarios. The official also said that whether Trump continues what Iran described as aggression or pulls back, the military remains ready. If confrontation becomes unavoidable, the official said, the battlefield will decide the outcome, and it will then become clear who holds power and who has the final say.
