Odaily reported, citing CCTV International News, that Ebrahim Rezaei, spokesperson for Iran’s parliamentary National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, recently addressed Lebanon’s ceasefire issue and relations between Iran and the United States in an interview. Rezaei said the Lebanon ceasefire issue is a red line for Iran, and that Tehran will not make concessions on related matters.
Rezaei says Iran and the US remain in a hostile state
Speaking about Iran-US relations, Rezaei said Iran does not trust the United States and will not normalize relations with Washington. He emphasized that Iran and the United States are currently in a state of hostility, and that Iran is preparing for a possible another war.
Rezaei stated, “We do not believe what the Americans say, but act based on our own considerations.” At the same time, he said Iran is also using negotiation and diplomatic options and will continue negotiations with the United States. His comments describe a parallel approach in which Iran maintains security preparations while continuing diplomatic contact.
