Pezeshkian blamed the United States for the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, saying, 「It is the United States that has blocked our road.」 He said that when Iran’s road is blocked, closing the Strait of Hormuz is a natural reaction.
He added that the Strait of Hormuz crisis can be resolved through negotiations rather than force. If talks lead to a settlement of the dispute, the waterway 「will remain open to trade.」
