Iran's Parliament Speaker Warns US: Attack on Iran's Oil Assets Puts US Energy Facilities at Risk

On September 7, Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf warned that if the U.S. attacks Iran's oil and gas assets, American energy companies operating in the region would also face the risk of retaliation. Ghalibaf noted that Iran's domestic oil and gas production chain is widely distributed, easily accessible, and lacks protection, while U.S. energy facilities in related waters and installations face similar vulnerabilities. He referenced past experience, stating that Iran "has proven this point" and suggested that outsiders ask about the "bases that are no longer operational."
