Japanese and South Korean stocks closed sharply lower on Wednesday. According to Gate data, the Nikkei 225 fell 1,889.70 points, or 2.85%, to finish at 64,325.64. South Korea's KOSPI dropped 273.08 points, or 3.99%, to 6,562.72. In individual trading, SK Hynix declined 4.7% and Samsung Electronics was down about 4%.
