Jeonbuk Bank, a unit of South Korea’s JB Financial Group, has completed a proof of concept for stablecoin-based cross-border remittances with the Solana Foundation and Node Infra, according to Techub, citing Edaily. The test was carried out in a live banking environment rather than a closed lab setup. The PoC linked the full transaction flow: KRW deposits, stablecoin conversion, bank custody, cross-border settlement, and payout through a local bank. The structure used a private Solana channel, meaning counterparty details and transaction amounts were not directly exposed on a public blockchain. Only deposit records and final settlement results were written to the public chain. Jeonbuk Bank also said stablecoin conversion in the setup was handled within the bank’s custody framework instead of relying on an external cross-chain bridge. The bank plans to connect the technology with its Bravo Korea service for foreign residents in South Korea once the country’s relevant regulatory framework is in place.

Jeonbuk Bank, a subsidiary of South Korea’s JB Financial Group, has completed a proof of concept for stablecoin-based cross-border remittances with the Solana Foundation and Node Infra, according to Techub, citing Edaily.

The PoC was carried out in a live banking business environment and covered the full process from KRW deposits to stablecoin conversion, bank custody, cross-border settlement, and payout by a local bank.

Private Solana channel used for transaction handling

The setup used a private Solana channel, so counterparty information and transaction amounts were not directly disclosed on the public blockchain. Only deposit records and final settlement results were recorded on-chain.

Stablecoin conversion was handled within the bank’s custody system rather than through an external cross-chain bridge.

Bank plans to link the system with Bravo Korea

Jeonbuk Bank said it plans to combine the technology with its Bravo Korea service for foreign residents in South Korea after relevant rules are put in place in the country.
