Jiang Zhuoer, founder of mining pool B.TOP, said on Sept. 11 that he still made about 4.3% across three positions even though his BTC short moved against him. According to BlockBeats, he used the price at 8:29:47 p.m. and the price shown in a later screenshot as the reference points for the calculation. The BTC full-position short from $77,226 to $78,730.74 showed a 1.95% loss. His full-position ETH spot trade from $2,467.61 to $2,609.31 posted a 5.74% gain, while a 5% BNC spot position from $4.81 to $5.305 added 0.51%. Taken together, the three trades resulted in a combined profit of about 4.3%, based on the figures he shared. Earlier on the same day, Jiang said he had sold 100% of his BTC position at $77,226. A day earlier, he said that after the latest U.S. PPI data was released, the probability of a Federal Reserve rate hike had risen to 70%, and he expected the next day’s CPI data would also not be positive, so he had prepared to short.
