Jito said Bitwise, Triton One and SOL Strategies will become the first third-party operators for BAM nodes, with deployment set to begin on the BAM testnet. Until now, every BAM node on both testnet and mainnet had been run by Jito itself. The company outlined a three-step rollout: testnet deployment inside confidential virtual machines on bare-metal hardware; an early mainnet phase in which migrated nodes will serve only the operators’ own BAM validators, targeted before the end of 2026; and a full mainnet phase open to any validator, targeted for early Q1 2027. Jito said that final stage depends on two features still under development: Attestations, and a Verifier plus Autobahn system designed to check whether block producers follow the transaction order assigned by BAM nodes and automatically ban ordering violations. Jito also said the first batch of operators did not receive additional economic incentives, and that it will later publish both the onboarding process for new operators and the economic model for sustaining node operations.

Jito said on X that Bitwise, Triton One and SOL Strategies have become the first third-party BAM node operators, with their nodes set to go live on the BAM testnet soon.

Before this move, all BAM nodes on both testnet and mainnet had been operated by Jito.

Jito sets out a three-phase rollout

Jito said it has established three onboarding phases for this first group of operators.

The first phase is testnet. Operators are deploying BAM nodes inside confidential virtual machines, or CVMs, on bare-metal hardware. According to Jito, all three operators have completed hardware preparation and are now in deployment and integration.

The second phase is early mainnet. Testnet nodes will be migrated to mainnet, but access will be limited to the operators’ own BAM validators. Jito said this phase is expected to begin before the end of 2026.

The third phase is full mainnet. At that point, the nodes are intended to open to any validator, with Jito targeting early in the first quarter of 2027.

Two features still need to be completed

Jito said progress toward the full mainnet phase depends on two features that are still in development.

  • Attestations;
  • a Verifier to check whether block producers execute transactions in the order assigned by BAM nodes, along with Autobahn, an automatic banning function tied to ordering violations.

No extra economic incentives for the first batch

Jito also said the first group of operators did not receive additional economic incentives for joining. The company added that it will publish the process for bringing in new operators later, along with the economic model for maintaining node operations.
