Jito has rolled out two upgrades to the bundle infrastructure behind BAM, adding Direct Bundle Ingest, or DBI, and an updated Block Engine forwarding path. DBI has already been available on mainnet to an initial group of searchers over the past month, letting them send bundles straight to BAM nodes through QUIC or JSON-RPC instead of routing them through the Jito Block Engine first. Jito also said existing bundles received by Block Engine, along with sendTransaction traffic, will now be forwarded to BAM through DBI, removing the previous 50-millisecond auction step from that path. Based on two comparison windows of roughly two and a half weeks each, the company said the number of bundles received by BAM fell 7.5% after the change, while the number of bundles that landed on-chain rose 16.9%. The landing rate increased from 0.45% to 0.57%. DBI is currently available through a whitelist-based access model.

Jito said it has made two upgrades to BAM’s bundle infrastructure: Direct Bundle Ingest (DBI) and an optimized Block Engine forwarding path.

DBI has been live on mainnet for an initial set of searchers over the past month. It allows bundles to be submitted directly to BAM nodes through QUIC or JSON-RPC, without passing through the Jito Block Engine.

Forwarding path now skips the 50-millisecond auction step

According to Jito, bundles currently received by Block Engine, as well as sendTransaction traffic, will also be forwarded directly to BAM through DBI, bypassing the previous 50-millisecond auction stage.

On-chain landing rate rose to 0.57%

Jito said that, when comparing two statistical periods of about two and a half weeks each before and after the upgrade, the number of bundles received by BAM fell 7.5%, while the number of bundles successfully landed on-chain increased 16.9%. The landing rate rose from 0.45% to 0.57%.

DBI is currently operating under a whitelist access model.
