Odaily reported that a U.S. federal judge on Monday dismissed a lawsuit brought by Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company xAI against its rival OpenAI. The case accused OpenAI of stealing trade secrets and was heard in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California in San Francisco.
Judge says xAI failed to prove its claims
Judge Rita Lin said xAI had not shown that OpenAI induced former xAI engineer Xuechen Li to misappropriate trade secrets. She also found that xAI had not shown Li disclosed xAI trade secrets during a presentation made while OpenAI was recruiting him.
According to the ruling, Rita Lin said allowing xAI to continue with the lawsuit would be “futile.” The judge had previously dismissed an earlier version of the lawsuit in February this year. The report cited Jinshi as the source of the information.
