Speaking at Paris Blockchain Week on July 10, 2026, Tron founder Justin Sun delivered a keynote emphasizing the urgent need for fast, reliable, and global payment systems tailored for artificial intelligence (AI) agents. He argued that traditional payment rails are too slow, costly, and fragmented to support the growing number of autonomous AI entities operating in finance, supply chain, and digital identity.
B-AI: A Self-Sovereign Financial Layer for AI Agents
Sun introduced B-AI, a platform built on the Tron network that equips AI agents with comprehensive on-chain financial capabilities. B-AI allows agents to manage decentralized identities, hold and transfer funds, and execute smart contract transactions autonomously—without relying on centralized intermediaries. The platform leverages Tron's high throughput and low transaction fees to enable near-instant settlement for AI-driven payments.
“AI agents are evolving from tools into independent economic participants,” Sun said. “They need their own wallets, their own identities, and payment rails that settle in milliseconds. B-AI on Tron delivers exactly that.”
Tron Ecosystem Expands; AI Integration Accelerates
The announcement comes amid Tron's broader push into AI. The network's cumulative settlement volume surpassed $2 trillion, while perpetual contract trading volume rose 20.44% to $1.206 billion. In May, the Tron Eco AI Pizza Festival distributed $2,000 in prizes and 500,000 B.AI points to attract developers. TRX also showed resilience amid market downturns, supported by buybacks and an ETF filing.
Market response was muted but positive: BAI gained 0.67% and TRX 1.81% following the speech. Analysts see AI payment rails as the next growth frontier after DeFi, with Tron positioned as an early mover due to its large user base and low-cost infrastructure.
Sun called on the industry to establish standard protocols for AI agent payments, enabling cross-chain interoperability and scaling the “AI agent economy.”
