Kaito AI on Aug. 18 introduced Kaito Pulse, a browser extension that links user discussion on X more closely with on-chain activity and social influence. At the same time, the company named Axis Robotics as the first partner project in its return to incentive programs aimed at creators and community contributors.

The launch has revived discussion around the so-called "talk-to-earn" model tied to crypto social platforms. This time, Kaito is not framing the effort as a simple reward system for posting. The company is pushing a broader scoring structure built around attention and behavior verification.
Pulse adds on-chain identity context to the X timeline
Kaito Pulse is designed to place more on-chain identity information directly inside the X feed. After installation, users can see not only what an account says, but also parts of the account’s public market behavior.
According to the product description cited in the report, the extension allows users to view other accounts’ on-chain activity from within the X timeline, including public trading positions from platforms such as Polymarket and Hyperliquid. The stated goal is to help users judge whether an account’s commentary matches its actual actions.
By combining social influence with on-chain behavior, Kaito wants X to function as more than a channel for information distribution. The company is trying to turn it into a social layer that merges opinion, identity and trading behavior.
The move also marks an upgrade from Yaps to Pulse. In the earlier phase, Kaito mainly tracked crypto discussion heat on X, built influence rankings around that activity and used KAITO-linked incentives to drive participation. As more accounts began producing content at scale, the limits of using discussion volume alone became harder to ignore. Pulse adds content influence, community interaction and on-chain behavior verification, and introduces a new scoring framework called Aura to measure user influence and verified on-chain activity.
The difference is straightforward: Kaito previously focused on who generated the most discussion. Now it is putting more weight on whose discussion can be trusted.
Code analysis claims sparked debate over data collection
Reaction to the rollout split quickly. Some users saw the product as a sign that a fresh wave of crypto-native social incentives could be coming back as market conditions improve. Others focused on privacy and permissions almost immediately after the extension went live.
Ultra said in a post on X that an analysis of the Pulse plugin’s code pointed to several possible forms of data collection, including device fingerprinting, behavioral tracking on X and third-party account verification.
Device identification drew the most attention. Ultra said Pulse may generate a device fingerprint using information such as GPU rendering results, hardware model data and hardware test audio, then connect that information to an X account. In Ultra’s view, that could reduce anonymity for users operating multiple accounts or account matrices within communities.
Ultra also questioned the scope of behavior data the extension may gather on X. The post said Pulse could record parts of user activity on the platform, including browsing paths, dwell time on content, click behavior and follow status, while using periodic requests to determine whether a user is active.
Third-party account verification became another flashpoint. Ultra said the plugin involves verification flows connected to ChatGPT, Claude and multiple trading-platform accounts, and argued that those processes may touch sensitive information such as subscription status, usage quotas and trading-account data.
The argument centers on credibility versus privacy
The dispute reflects a broader tension that was already present in the Yaps era. Kaito had relied heavily on discussion volume on X as a proxy for influence, but the spread of mass-produced content raised a harder question: does attention actually equal real influence?

By adding on-chain behavior and external account verification, Kaito is trying to reduce the room for users to climb rankings through posting volume and engagement alone. The company’s aim is to make influence scores track actual contribution more closely. That also means users may have to grant broader access and verification permissions.
The community response has split along that line. Supporters argue that the core weakness in InfoFi is inflated metrics and fake influence, and that stronger identity and behavior checks are necessary if reward systems are meant to be credible. Critics argue that platforms should not keep widening data collection simply to improve scoring accuracy, and that a different balance is needed between privacy and incentive value.
Yu Hu says Pulse follows data minimization and does not store raw data
Kaito founder Yu Hu responded after the criticism spread.
Yu Hu said Kaito Pulse was built around a data-minimization principle. He said the product is not intended to collect user data, but to verify certain identities or behaviors when users choose to authorize that process.
On concerns about account information, he said Kaito Pulse does not obtain the full contents of user accounts and does not store users’ raw data. The verification flow, he said, is meant to generate proof results, so the platform receives proof information rather than the underlying data itself.
Addressing the controversy around external account verification, Yu Hu said Kaito Pulse uses verification technologies including zkTLS in an effort to let users prove certain off-chain identities or behavior records without exposing raw data.
He also acknowledged that the way some permissions are presented may have caused confusion, and said later versions will improve permission descriptions and user prompts.
Pulse has reopened an old InfoFi data problem
The discussion around Kaito Pulse points to a familiar issue in InfoFi. Platforms once judged an account’s value mainly through follower counts, engagement metrics and content heat. As AI-generated posts, scaled account operations and matrix-style distribution become more common, discussion volume on its own no longer works as a reliable stand-in for genuine influence.
Kaito’s answer is to introduce more layers of verification. That choice creates a new line of scrutiny at the same time. The more a platform tries to prove who a user is and whether that user’s views deserve trust, the more information the user may need to hand over.
For users considering whether to install the plugin and join another cycle of creator incentives, the trade-off is now explicit. Rankings, points and potential rewards may require broader data access. Platforms want more signals to separate real influence from manufactured attention, while users want assurance that those signals are used only for verification and do not become a fresh digital profile.
Kaito Pulse is meant to verify user influence. As it gains access to more device, behavior and account-related information, Kaito itself is becoming part of the verification debate.
