Korea Blockchain Week 2024 (KBW2024) has announced Movement Labs as the official conference partner for its flagship “IMPACT” event, adding fresh momentum to one of Asia’s best-known Web3 gatherings. KBW is scheduled to run from September 1 to 7, 2024 in Seoul, with the main IMPACT conference taking place on September 3-4 at Walkerhill Hotels & Resorts. Organizers said the event is expected to attract more than 10,000 attendees.

Partner and sponsor lineup expands

According to the announcement, Movement Labs joins the conference partner roster alongside Sui. Founded in 2022 by Rushi Manche and Cooper Scanlon, Movement Labs is building a next-generation blockchain network designed to power a secure, high-performance Ethereum Layer 2. The company is focused on bringing MoveVM into the Ethereum ecosystem to improve smart contract security and scalability.

KBW also disclosed a broader sponsor lineup. Newly announced title sponsors include TON, Chiliz, Data Ownership Protocol (DOP), Creditcoin, Sahara AI, and Presto, joining previously named supporters such as Aptos Foundation and TRON. Gold sponsors include ORBS, Flare Network, and Ripple. The sponsor mix points to continued interest in the Asian Web3 market across blockchain infrastructure, AI, data ownership, payments, and financial services.

Agenda to focus on AI, DeFi, and tokenized assets

Founded and organized by FACTBLOCK and co-hosted by Hashed, this year’s KBW plans to cover several major industry themes. Organizers highlighted the intersection of AI and blockchain, the return of DeFi through restaking, and the tokenization of real-world assets (RWA) as key topics. The event is set to feature 100 sessions and 250 speakers, underscoring Asia’s role in driving adoption across finance and deep technology.

FACTBLOCK CEO and KBW founder Seon-ik Jeon said the growing roster of speakers, sponsors, and partners reflects the event’s standing as a leading forum for discussions at the intersection of Web2 and Web3. He added that KBW aims to connect industry progress since blockchain’s early days with the sector’s future potential.

Speaker list adds major industry names

Newly announced speakers include Adeniyi Abiodun of Mysten Labs, Alexandre Dreyfus of Chiliz, Justin Sun of TRON, Luca Schnetzler of Pudgy Penguins, Ran Hammer of ORBS, Robbie Ferguson of Immutable, Rune Christensen of MakerDAO, Rushi Manche of Movement Labs, Sehyeon Oh of SK Telecom, Smokey The Bera of Berachain, Sean (Xiang) Ren of Sahara AI, SY Lee of Story Protocol, and Yoann Turpin of Wintermute.

They join a previously announced lineup featuring Vitalik Buterin (virtual), Arthur Hayes, Brad Garlinghouse, Richard Teng, Mike Belshe, Nathan Allman, and Yat Siu, among others. Beyond the main conference, KBW week is also expected to host more than 300 side events, with sessions backed by Movement Labs, Sui, Aptos, Creditcoin, Sahara AI, Story Protocol, and TON.

With just over a month to go before the event, KBW2024 is positioning itself as a major gathering for the Asian and global Web3 community. Based on the press release, the conference will likely center on infrastructure, DeFi, AI, and asset tokenization as the sector looks for fresh growth narratives.
