Techub News, citing CryptoBriefing, reported that cryptocurrency exchange Kraken has become the first official crypto partner of the International Federation of Association Football, FIFA. The partnership was announced around June 9 and marks a new commercial arrangement for the 2026 World Cup, with a major crypto sponsor included in the tournament’s official business framework for the first time.

The report also noted the appearance of Solana-based fan tokens tied to World Cup-related narratives. The tokens, YAMAL and NICO, are respectively associated with players Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams. However, both tokens currently have market capitalizations below $10,000 and extremely low liquidity.

That contrasts with activity seen during the 2022 Qatar World Cup, when national team fan tokens recorded a brief trading peak. In the current case, although YAMAL and NICO are linked to well-known players, the figures cited in the report show that their market value and liquidity remain very limited.
