Crypto exchange Kraken has rolled out USD-settled Bitcoin and Ethereum options on Kraken Pro, adding a new derivatives product focused on the two largest crypto assets. The offering is being introduced first through request-for-quote, or RFQ, trading, with a later launch planned for the European market.
Kraken said it intends to expand the product over time by adding an order book model, widening regional availability, and including more assets. The exchange also said the current crypto options market is still largely geared toward institutional participants, while retail participation remains limited. The launch reflects Kraken’s effort to broaden access to crypto options trading within its professional platform while building out the product in stages.
Kraken has launched USD-settled BTC and ETH options on Kraken Pro.
The product is initially available through request-for-quote, or RFQ, trading, with a rollout in the European market set to follow.
Kraken said it plans to expand the offering through an order book, broader regional coverage, and additional assets.
The exchange said existing crypto options products are mainly geared toward institutional clients, with retail participation still limited.
