KuCoin has launched KuCard in Australia, giving eligible users a way to spend crypto through the Mastercard network. The card can be used anywhere Mastercard is accepted and supports Apple Pay and Google Pay from day one. According to KuCoin, USDC is the standard settlement currency, and the product starts with support for 37 USDC trading pairs.
Crypto converts at checkout while merchants receive fiat
KuCoin announced the Australian rollout in an official blog post on April 24, 2026, with related promotion on X. The payment flow is built around conversion at the point of sale: supported crypto is exchanged into fiat during checkout, so merchants still receive regular currency. Users do not have to sell their holdings before making a purchase.
The exchange said the product connects to Mastercard through Immersve, a principal member of the card network. KuCoin also linked the launch to its earlier Digital Currency Exchange registration with AUSTRAC in Australia.
Virtual card first, with BTC, ETH, USDT and other assets supported
In Australia, KuCard is launching first as a virtual card. KuCoin support pages state that the first virtual card is free, while additional cards cost 9.99 USDC each. A physical card is planned for a later stage. Access is limited to Australian citizens and residents who complete identity verification.
The initial list of supported assets includes major tokens across the 37 USDC pairs, such as BTC, ETH, USDT, XRP, SOL, and KCS. USDC sits at the center of settlement, giving the payment rail a structure that is closer to conventional card-based clearing. In simple terms, the card is tapped, and the crypto conversion happens in the background.
Cashback promotion reaches 8.5% with extra launch incentives
KuCoin paired the rollout with several rewards campaigns. The exchange said KCS holders can receive up to 8.5% total cashback on qualifying purchases. It also promoted a 50% cashback offer for the first 1,000 users.
Signup rewards go up to 20 USDC. A linked campaign page advertised a 10,000 USDC reward pool, and a separate social giveaway offers a share of 500 USDC, ending on May 15, 2026 at 23:59 UTC+8. KuCoin noted that cashback terms, caps, and eligibility conditions may change over time.
Australia becomes a live market for regulated crypto payments
KuCoin’s launch materials put the focus on payments, rewards, and compliance rather than trading activity. The company said Axis One Markets operates the local Digital Currency Exchange under AUSTRAC registration, while KuCard is issued through Immersve’s licensed structure. The product is designed to move crypto use from exchange screens into everyday spending.
That makes Australia a notable market to watch. In KuCoin’s setup, a card network, stablecoin settlement, and a regulated operating structure are combined in one consumer payment product, with KCS tied into the cashback tier system.
