Lambda256, a South Korean blockchain technology company, said its enterprise infrastructure platform Nodit has obtained SOC 2 Type II certification. The company described the result as the first such case in South Korea’s blockchain industry, covering Nodit’s security, availability, and operational controls.
SOC 2 Type II examines controls over time
SOC 2 is an international compliance framework established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, or AICPA. It evaluates how an organization protects and manages data across five trust service criteria: security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy. Type I reviews the design of internal controls at a specific point in time. Type II looks at whether those controls operate effectively over a defined period.
According to Lambda256, Nodit’s blockchain node infrastructure and data service operations were independently audited and formally validated under the SOC 2 Type II standard. The company said this confirmed that its security controls and operating processes meet ongoing global compliance expectations.
Audit followed a Type I report from 2023
The assessment was conducted in cooperation with EY Korea. Lambda256 said Nodit first received SOC 2 Type I certification in November 2023, then underwent a broader review of the long-term effectiveness of its controls before receiving the final Type II report.
With the certification, Lambda256 said it is now the only blockchain company in South Korea holding SOC 2 Type II status. Nodit provides enterprise-grade blockchain infrastructure and Web3 data services for clients handling large-scale on-chain transactions, including digital asset exchanges, financial institutions, and gaming companies in South Korea and overseas.
New website and Trust Center launched alongside certification
Lambda256 also unveiled a redesigned corporate website to present its business scope, technical capabilities, and security posture to outside stakeholders. The new site introduces the company’s core solutions, including Nodit, and outlines its security and compliance standards for financial and enterprise clients.
The company has also opened a dedicated Trust Center that provides access to its SOC 2 report and related compliance information. Michael Cho, head of business at Lambda256, said stable operations, security, and internal controls have become required capabilities for blockchain infrastructure providers as the technology moves into regulated and institutional settings.
Lambda256 is a blockchain affiliate of Dunamu. Since spinning off as an independent company in 2019, it has built platforms including Nodit for infrastructure, Clair for data intelligence, and Scope for stablecoin issuance.
