LAPTOP, a meme token linked in the report to Hunter Biden, is set to go live on Base on Sept. 9. Based on the contract address published on the project website, BlockBeats said the token has a fixed supply of 1 billion, all minted at once, with about 80% currently held by a single Gnosis Safe treasury. The report said the token uses a standard LayerZero OFT structure and its source code has been verified. It does not include transfer taxes, blacklist controls, pause functions, or extra minting features. Even so, cross-chain Peer settings have not yet been configured, leaving a later Peer setup by the Owner as the main contract-level permission path still available. BlockBeats also said the project’s public claims around team lockups, event-based burns, airdrops, foundation allocations, and charitable donations are not directly enforced by the token contract at this stage. Those terms, it noted, currently come from the website and related project messaging. The report added that Hunter Biden has only publicly posted 「$LAPTOP / September 9」 and has not directly published an official contract address. With copycat tokens already appearing ahead of launch, the outlet warned users to watch for fake assets and mistaken transfers before the official liquidity pool is deployed and any lockup or burn mechanisms are confirmed on-chain.

BlockBeats reported that LAPTOP, a meme token linked to Hunter Biden, is scheduled to launch on Base on Sept. 9. Using the contract address disclosed on the project’s website, the outlet said the token has a total supply of 1 billion, all minted in a single batch, while roughly 80% of that supply is controlled by the same Gnosis Safe multisig group.

At the contract level, LAPTOP uses a standard LayerZero Omnichain Fungible Token, or OFT, structure. The source code has been verified. According to the report, the contract does not contain transfer taxes, blacklist functions, pause controls, or any extra minting feature. Still, the cross-chain Peer has not been configured yet. That means the Owner can later extend cross-chain functionality by setting a Peer, which BlockBeats described as the largest permission entry point currently left in the contract.

Token ownership is highly concentrated

Holder data cited in the report shows that the top 10 addresses hold the entire supply. The treasury Safe alone holds 800 million LAPTOP, equal to 80% of the total. That Safe and the Owner are controlled by the same three-person multisig, with a 2-of-3 signing threshold.

The concentration becomes even clearer in the top five addresses. Together, they hold about 99.85% of the supply.

Website promises are not enforced by the token contract

BlockBeats said LAPTOP had previously presented several token rules to the public, including 「30% locked for the founding team, up to 30% to be burned based on political and crypto event outcomes, and 20% allocated to airdrops and the foundation.」 For now, those arrangements come mainly from the project website and related narrative rather than from hardcoded token-contract enforcement.

That leaves open whether the lockup, vesting, predictive burn, and charitable donation mechanisms will actually be carried out. The report said verification will depend on future deployment of treasury contracts or additional smart contracts. More official information is still pending.

Official contract confirmation remains limited

BlockBeats added that Hunter Biden himself has only publicly posted 「$LAPTOP / September 9」 and has not directly published an official contract address. At this stage, the address is being identified mainly through the @Laptoptoken account and the project website, and Hunter Biden has followed that account.

With the launch approaching, a large number of copycat tokens have already appeared in the market, according to the report. BlockBeats said investors should stay alert to fake tokens and mistaken fund transfers before the official liquidity pool is deployed, the lockup and burn mechanisms are put on-chain, and Hunter Biden gives further confirmation of the official contract address.

The outlet also reminded users that meme coins often have no practical use case and can see large price swings, so trading them carries risk.
