LG has confirmed that it is developing its own layer 2 network with Arbitrum. After the news, ARB rose more than 7% to $0.0834. Bitcoin moved higher at the same time, gaining more than 3% to reach $63,500, which added support to the broader crypto market.
LG confirms work on a proprietary layer 2
In comments to Fortune, LG said the project is being built in partnership with Arbitrum. The South Korea-based company is known for its electronics, display, home technology, and enterprise operations. The report describes the effort as a proprietary layer 2 network. In practical terms, layer 2 systems are built on top of a base blockchain to process transactions faster and at lower cost while relying on the mainnet for security.
Arbitrum co-founder Steven Goldfeder said the platform can automate the entire ad sales workflow and remove the need for manual intervention. That example points to a business use case beyond payments alone. The focus is on process execution.
Operational use is becoming the main enterprise theme
The report frames LG’s move as part of a wider change in how large companies view blockchain. It was once treated mainly as a financial tool for banks and intermediaries. Now, companies are looking at distributed ledger systems as a way to simplify internal processes and improve operating efficiency. Arbitrum’s view is clear: businesses want systems with less human involvement, especially in repetitive tasks that pass through multiple intermediaries.
Several corporate examples were cited alongside LG’s plan. Walmart cut product traceability time in its supply chain from six days to 2.2 seconds. IBM has concentrated on blockchain-based supply chain solutions. Microsoft has integrated blockchain technology into its Azure cloud platform for enterprise applications. Taken together, those cases show blockchain being used as an operational system rather than a narrow financial experiment.
ARB price move tracked both company news and market strength
The jump in ARB was linked to two drivers in the report. One was LG’s partnership with Arbitrum. The other was the broader rebound across crypto markets. The article mentions a daily gain of about 5% in one section, while another says the token climbed more than 7%, with the price reaching $0.0834.
During the same period, CoinDesk data showed bitcoin rising to $63,500. ARB’s move followed both the company-specific catalyst and the wider market recovery.
