LMAX Group has introduced Omnia Exchange, a new platform designed to let institutions and financial platforms convert FX, crypto, stablecoins and other digital assets in real time through one API.

LMAX Group has launched Omnia Exchange, a new infrastructure layer aimed at institutions and financial platforms that want to convert assets in real time through a single API. The company said the venue brings together FX, crypto, stablecoins and other digital assets in one place, giving users unified pricing and a more efficient route for cross-border settlement.

The product was announced in London on 10 February 2026. LMAX said Omnia is built on the group’s existing exchange technology and wholesale liquidity network, with the goal of connecting digital capital markets to traditional trading and settlement rails. The target audience spans payment providers, custodians, wallets, fintech platforms and wealth managers that want exchange functionality embedded directly into their own workflows.

One execution layer for FX and digital asset liquidity

According to LMAX, Omnia is designed to reduce complexity in trading and payments by letting participants trade one asset directly against another instead of working across segmented markets. The firm said the platform combines blockchain-style transparency at the order-entry level with the execution model of a centralized exchange.

LMAX described Omnia as a platform for institutional-grade, 24/7 conversion across asset classes. Users will be able to trade any asset directly against any other asset, the company said, without restrictions tied to size or asset type. It also offers real-time competitive pricing and flexible settlement options across both traditional rails and blockchain-based settlement.

Built for embedded trading and payment flows

LMAX is presenting Omnia as a plug-in liquidity and settlement layer for businesses that want exchange capabilities inside their own platforms. In the company’s view, that setup reduces the burden of handling multiple liquidity sources, pricing feeds and settlement processes. LMAX also said the model could open new revenue opportunities by allowing firms to offer instant conversion and settlement inside consumer-facing ecosystems.

The company said the platform is intended for payment providers, mobile networks, retail finance platforms, social platforms, wallets, custodians and wealth managers. Its pitch is clear: institutional-grade liquidity and instant settlement delivered as a built-in function, not as a separate trading venue.

David Mercer says Omnia bridges traditional and digital markets

LMAX Group CEO David Mercer described Omnia Exchange as a foundational layer for modern capital markets, saying it gives institutions the ability to exchange any asset at any time and in any location. He said opening access to wholesale FX and digital asset markets on a global basis is meant to remove barriers, reduce friction and unlock liquidity.

Mercer also said institutions should be able to exchange value as simply as sending a message, creating what he called “hyper-efficient capital.” LMAX added that Omnia builds on its existing venues and regulatory infrastructure, including LMAX Exchange, LMAX Global and LMAX Digital. The group operates matching engines in London, New York, Tokyo and Singapore and provides access to FX and digital asset markets across more than 100 countries.
