Crypto platform Luno said it has received a Class F digital asset business license from the Bermuda Monetary Authority, giving the company a regulated base outside its core emerging markets. Luno said the approval places it alongside globally recognized operators including Coinbase, Circle and Kraken.
The company said Bermuda can serve as a hub for its B2B and institutional push, allowing its crypto-as-a-service and global settlements products to reach clients beyond Africa and the Asia-Pacific region. Luno also described Bermuda as a jurisdiction built for digital assets and modern payments.
According to the company, the license permits over-the-counter trading in cryptocurrencies, tokenized stocks and commodities, as well as the rand-backed stablecoin ZAR Universal. That token is issued by Luno sister company BlockTowerTech and is intended for institutional use. The approval also covers access to Luno’s full range of tradable assets in global spot markets, alongside wallet infrastructure for secure custody and transfers.
