Singapore-based fintech group M-DAQ Global has signed definitive agreements for a strategic integration with METech, the majority shareholder of licensed Vietnamese payment service provider PayME. The move gives M-DAQ its own regulated payments infrastructure in Vietnam, allowing direct local collections and payouts in Vietnamese dong rather than relying more heavily on third-party rails. The company said the deal is a key step toward building a unified ASEAN Payments Hub spanning collections, FX conversion, and payouts across the region. It also extends M-DAQ’s licensed footprint following earlier expansion moves involving EasyPay in Malaysia and Wallex in Indonesia. With METech joining the group, M-DAQ said it now holds five regulated licenses across four major ASEAN markets. The company also highlighted Vietnam’s fast-growing digital economy, domestic e-commerce market, and projected cross-border B2C growth as major tailwinds for regional payment infrastructure. Executives from both firms said the integration is intended to improve speed, reliability, transparency, and compliance for cross-border payment flows, including use cases relevant to crypto and Web3 businesses seeking scalable financial rails in Southeast Asia.

M-DAQ signs definitive agreements for strategic integration in Vietnam

M-DAQ Global, a Singapore-headquartered fintech group focused on foreign exchange and cross-border payment solutions, announced that it has signed definitive agreements for a strategic integration with METech, the majority shareholder of PayME, a licensed payment service provider in Vietnam. The company said the move strengthens its regional payments infrastructure and supports its broader vision of a more interconnected Southeast Asian digital economy.

According to the announcement, the transaction marks an important step in M-DAQ’s plan to build a unified ASEAN Payments Hub. The platform is intended to provide integrated collections, FX conversion, and payout capabilities across the region. Through the METech integration, M-DAQ said it now has its own regulated payments infrastructure in Vietnam, enabling direct processing of local collections and payouts in Vietnamese dong, or VND.

That direct access is designed to reduce reliance on third-party partners and give M-DAQ more operational control over one of the region’s key cross-border payment corridors. The company said the result should be faster and more efficient money movement, with less friction for businesses operating into and out of Vietnam.

Vietnam becomes a key corridor in M-DAQ’s ASEAN licensing buildout

M-DAQ described Vietnam as one of ASEAN’s fastest-growing economies and a critical market in its regional expansion strategy. In the company’s view, METech brings technical and regulatory expertise as well as longstanding banking relationships inside Vietnam. Those capabilities provide the onshore infrastructure needed to connect the country into M-DAQ’s wider regional payments platform.

The company also said the two sides serve highly complementary customer segments. By combining METech’s domestic market experience with M-DAQ’s broader regional scale, the integration is expected to open additional business opportunities for both organizations.

The deal fits into a larger strategy to establish a broad, licensed payments footprint across ASEAN’s major trade and economic corridors. M-DAQ said this latest expansion builds on earlier moves involving EasyPay in Malaysia and Wallex in Indonesia. With METech now part of the group, M-DAQ said it holds five regulated licenses across four key ASEAN markets, strengthening its ability to support payment flows within Southeast Asia and between ASEAN and the rest of the world.

Tan Choon Seng, Group CEO of M-DAQ Global, said Vietnam is one of ASEAN’s most dynamic growth markets and a core pillar of the region’s digital transformation. He added that the integration marks M-DAQ’s first direct presence in the country and advances its ASEAN-focused strategy. Tan also said that the next wave of digital businesses and innovators, including crypto and Web3 platforms, increasingly recognize that scaling requires robust and fully compliant financial infrastructure.

Vietnam’s digital economy and e-commerce growth underpin payment demand

M-DAQ said the timing is favorable because Vietnam represents a major opportunity for cross-border commerce. Citing market data, the company said Vietnam’s digital economy is expected to reach USD 72.1 billion in 2025, accounting for more than 14% of national GDP. It also noted that the Vietnamese government is actively working to raise that share to 30% by 2030.

Data from Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade shows that the country’s domestic e-commerce market reached USD 31 billion in 2025, placing Vietnam among the top three digital economies in ASEAN. M-DAQ added that Vietnam’s cross-border B2C e-commerce market alone is forecast to grow to USD 13.39 billion by 2031, leaving substantial room for further development in regional trade corridors and supporting payment infrastructure.

Lê Hoàng Gia, founder of METech, said the company has built a deeply rooted presence in Vietnam’s financial ecosystem over the past decade and has developed significant expertise by serving the local business community. Through the integration with M-DAQ, he said METech aims to extend that expertise beyond Vietnam by combining local infrastructure with regional reach. In his view, the partnership can create new growth opportunities across ASEAN while setting a higher standard for cross-border payments in terms of speed, reliability, and transparency.
