MANTRA Chain pushed its token upgrade deadline to March 2, 2026. OM will change to MANTRA with a 1:4 split, while users on EVM and Cosmos networks must follow separate migration steps.

MANTRA Chain has extended the timeline for its MANTRA Coin upgrade, moving the final date from January 19, 2026 to March 2, 2026. The revised schedule is meant to give dozens of exchange partners more time to coordinate and to add a safer buffer after the ERC20 version of OM is deprecated on January 15.

OM will become MANTRA with a 1:4 token split

Under the announced plan, the token ticker will change from $OM to $MANTRA. The conversion ratio is 1 OM = 4 MANTRA. According to the project, the upgrade is non-dilutive, meaning the total value held by users does not change because of the split itself. The transition also marks a full move toward MantraChain, and the proposal has already been approved through community voting.

Most platform and exchange users will see automatic handling

For users holding assets on supported platforms, the process is expected to be straightforward. On March 2, 2026, wallets will automatically reflect the new ticker and the 1:4 split, so one old OM will appear as four new MANTRA tokens. Exchanges that are coordinating with the blockchain are also expected to process the upgrade automatically. Even so, users are still advised to watch official notices from their exchange. The mechanics are simple, but the deadlines matter.

EVM and Cosmos holders need to move assets themselves

Not every holder will be covered by automatic conversion. Users keeping tokens on EVM networks must manually migrate their assets before January 15 by using the official migration tools. The notice says actions taken later may result in permanent locking. Users on Cosmos networks also need to move their old tokens to MantraChain through the IBC bridge to qualify for the 1:4 conversion.

The upgrade is tied to MANTRA’s chain consolidation plan

MANTRA describes itself as a regulated blockchain infrastructure platform with built-in compliance features, and it says it holds a VASP licence from Dubai’s VARA. In that context, the token upgrade is presented as a network unification step tied to its regulated tokenization focus. The extended timeline centers on exchange coordination, infrastructure readiness, and technical checks, with the aim of moving OM holders across networks onto the same upgrade path.
