Dr. Awesome Doge, the Bitcoin OG and founder of Cypherpunks Taiwan, has just released the traditional Chinese translation of Mastering Bitcoin, Third Edition. The new version arrives roughly seven years after the second edition was launched in December 2018, when Bitcoin had tumbled from $1,100 to $200. Back then, Doge translated while his dorm room Avalon miner doubled as a heater.
The third edition is not a minor update. With co-author David A. Harding, co-founder of Bitcoin Optech, the book gains three entirely new chapters: Chapter 7 on authorization and authentication, covering the full evolution from P2PKH to P2TR; Chapter 8 on digital signatures with deep dives into ECDSA and Schnorr, whose linear properties make MuSig2 multisig indistinguishable from single-sig on chain; and Chapter 9 on transaction fees, covering RBF, CPFP, and fee estimation for the first time in a dedicated chapter.
Chapter 14 has been massively expanded to include RGB, Taproot Assets, and Client-Side Validation — cutting-edge asset issuance on Bitcoin that had virtually zero Chinese-language documentation before this release.
A New Reading Experience, Fully Open

EPUB and HTML offline packages are free to download from GitHub. Doge has organized all his translations at doge.tg/publications — over 15 titles including Mastering the Lightning Network, Mastering Ethereum, Programming Bitcoin, and The Blocksize War — all free and open-source under the same CC-BY-SA 4.0 license used by Andreas Antonopoulos.
From 2013 to 2026, Doge has translated every step of Bitcoin's journey through Mt. Gox, the ICO bubble, DeFi summer, and FTX collapse, as the protocol evolved from P2PKH to SegWit to Taproot. “A talk ends, but a book stays,” he said.
