Matter Labs CEO Alex Gluchowski introduced Prividium Commander at Money20/20 USA, framing it as a control layer for financial institutions trying to move blockchain projects from testing into live production. He said most banks have already experimented with blockchain, but only a small number have deployed real services, with the main bottleneck sitting in operational processes rather than the underlying technology. Those hurdles include issuance controls, transfer handling, audit requirements, and compliance workflows. Prividium Commander is designed as a unified control plane where institutions can manage permissions, configure token features, and set operating policies in one place. It also connects with banks’ existing traditional finance systems and works across both public-chain and private-chain infrastructure. The product runs on Matter Labs’ permissioned privacy blockchain platform, Prividium, which is built on ZK Stack. The platform lets institutions operate private chains on their own infrastructure and anchor transactions to Ethereum through zero-knowledge proofs, giving them Ethereum-level settlement finality without exposing client balances or transaction details. Matter Labs open-sourced the Prividium Core permissions engine in September 2026, with Deutsche Bundesbank as the first tester. Cari Network has also chosen Prividium for a multi-bank tokenized deposit platform involving regional banks including Huntington and M&T Bank, with production planned for later in 2026.

According to ChainCatcher, Matter Labs CEO Alex Gluchowski introduced Prividium Commander at Money20/20 USA.

Gluchowski said most banks have already tested blockchain, but only a limited number have put it into production services. He said the main constraint is not the technology itself, but the operating process around it, including issuance controls, transfer processing, audit requirements, and compliance workflows.

A unified control plane for institutions

Prividium Commander is positioned as a unified control plane. Institutions can manage permissions, configure token features, and set operating policies in one place. The product also connects with banks’ existing traditional finance systems and supports both public-chain and private-chain infrastructure.

Built on the Prividium platform

Prividium Commander is built on Matter Labs’ permissioned privacy blockchain platform, Prividium. Based on ZK Stack, Prividium allows institutions to run private chains on their own infrastructure and anchor transactions to Ethereum through zero-knowledge proofs, giving them Ethereum-level settlement finality without disclosing client balances or transaction details.

Testing and deployment timeline

Matter Labs open-sourced the Prividium Core permissions engine in September 2026, and Deutsche Bundesbank became the first tester.

Cari Network has selected Prividium to build a multi-bank tokenized deposit platform. Participants include regional banks such as Huntington and M&T Bank, with production scheduled for later in 2026.

Matter Labs had already shifted its focus fully to Prividium’s institutional privacy infrastructure by mid-2026.
