MegaETH completed its token generation event on April 30, with its native token MEGA going live across a wide range of crypto exchanges on the same day. On-chain trading on the MegaETH mainnet opened at 6:00 a.m. Eastern Time, while spot trading on most exchanges started at 11:00 UTC.

MEGA debuts on multiple centralized venues

The listing lineup includes KuCoin, Bitget, MEXC, Upbit, Bithumb, Binance, and Bybit. Coinbase had already enabled pre-launch trading before the token went fully live, and Hyperliquid had also listed it. KuCoin introduced the MEGA/USDT pair, while Bitget opened trading for the same pair and had already enabled deposits. MEXC listed the token in its Innovation Zone.

In South Korea, Upbit opened three pairs at once — KRW, BTC, and USDT markets — while Bithumb listed a KRW pair. Binance added a seed tag for spot trading. On the derivatives side, the MEGAUSDT perpetual pre-market contract on Binance Futures has been available since late January, with leverage of up to 5x. Bybit also brought the token to its spot market during the same launch window.

MegaETH pitches a real-time Layer 2 network

MegaETH is marketed as a real-time blockchain built on Ethereum Layer 2 infrastructure. The project says it is targeting 100,000 transactions per second and block times of under 10 milliseconds. Its mainnet went live on February 9. According to the source material, MegaETH has raised a cumulative $470 million, with backers including Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin and Joe Lubin.

Token release followed the first KPI milestone

MEGA has a total supply of 10 billion tokens. Of that amount, 53.3% is tied to a KPI-based staking rewards structure. The TGE was triggered after MegaETH reached its first KPI milestone on April 23: more than 10 incubated applications had launched on mainnet, and cumulative transactions had exceeded 100,000. That milestone started a 7-day countdown, which ended with the formal token launch on April 30.
