METABORA GAMES has officially launched Puzzle & Guardians in Japan as a LINE Mini App, rolling out the title through LINE NEXT Start, the LY Corporation group company handling Web3 business in Japan. The game, developed as a joint project with Baligames, is now available inside LINE Messenger’s MINI App section, allowing users to start playing without downloading a separate app.
Puzzle & Guardians combines casual match-3 puzzle battles with RPG progression. Players build teams of Guardians, take part in 1v1 PvP matches and dungeon content, and can earn BORA token rewards by clearing in-game missions and joining event leagues.
LINE distribution puts the game in front of a massive Japan user base
With the launch, the game has been onboarded to the Mini App platform inside LINE, which the company described as Japan’s largest messenger platform. LINE has more than 100 million users, giving the title access to a very large domestic audience through a familiar mobile entry point.
The setup removes the need for extra installation and keeps access inside the messenger app itself. For a Web3 game, that kind of onboarding flow matters. It cuts friction at the first step and makes the game easier to reach for users who may not be looking for a standalone blockchain gaming app.
BORA DEEPS integration links gameplay with broader reward use
Alongside the Japan release, METABORA GAMES integrated the game with BORA DEEPS, the core infrastructure service of the BORA ecosystem. Through the BORA DEEPS Quest feature, players receive missions tailored to gameplay activity, and the rewards they collect can be used across native BORA DEEPS content.
The company specifically pointed to “Mini Game” and “Scratch,” a raffle-style service, as part of that reward path. That ties in-game activity to a wider content loop on the platform, while also extending the utility of rewards earned through play.
Localized Japan content and launch events are planned
METABORA GAMES said it plans to keep expanding localized content designed for the Japanese market. The company also said commemorative events tied to the launch will follow, with the stated goal of reinforcing the real-world utility of the BORA token.
According to the company information included with the announcement, METABORA GAMES is a subsidiary of METABORA and serves as the development studio behind the blockchain platform BORA. Its current operating structure is centered on BORA DEEPS, which connects in-game activity with rewards across its broader Web3 content environment.
