Metis, an Ethereum layer-2 network, has introduced the Metis Rise monthly developer incentive program to reward teams that deploy new AI agents on the Metis Andromeda mainnet, attract real users, and generate real onchain economic activity. The program is centered on what Metis describes as the economic usability of AI agents, with requirements spanning four areas: payments through x402, identity via ERC-8004, stablecoin escrow, and independently verifiable onchain signed receipts. Metis said the initiative is framework-agnostic and hosting-agnostic, supporting setups built with ClawUp, GOAT AgentKit, self-hosted backends, and even dual-chain architectures based on GOAT Network. To qualify each month, developers must maintain at least 15 valid monthly active users. Each counted user must complete at least three qualifying transactions on Metis Andromeda or settle at least $2 in m.USDC, m.USDT, or METIS. Metis also requires that the main user activity, settlement volume, and gas consumption occur on the Andromeda mainnet. The company added that it is building an execution and data layer for AI agents, while Andromeda’s decentralized sequencer, DSeq, is designed to remove a single point of failure tied to exchange dependence in trustless agent-to-agent interactions. Metis is organizing the program with ClawUp, GOAT Network, and LazAI as ecosystem partners.

Metis, an Ethereum layer-2 network, has rolled out the Metis Rise monthly developer incentive program for teams that deploy new AI agents on the Metis Andromeda mainnet, bring in real users, and generate real onchain economic activity.

The program focuses on what Metis calls the economic usability of AI agents. According to the announcement, the target use cases fall into four areas: payments through x402, identity through ERC-8004, stablecoin escrow, and independently verifiable onchain signed receipts.

Broad support for frameworks and deployment models

Metis said the program supports any AI agent framework and hosting model. That includes ClawUp, GOAT AgentKit, and self-built backends, along with dual-chain architectures based on GOAT Network.

Monthly qualification requirements

Developers must meet several conditions each month:

  • At least 15 valid monthly active users;
  • Each counted user must complete at least three qualifying transactions on Metis Andromeda, or settle no less than $2 in m.USDC, m.USDT, or METIS;
  • The main user transactions, settlement volume, and gas consumption must take place on the Metis Andromeda mainnet.

Infrastructure built around AI agents

Metis also said it is building an execution and data layer for AI agents. On Andromeda, the decentralized sequencer DSeq is intended to remove a single point of failure tied to exchange dependence in trustless agent-to-agent interactions.

Metis Rise is organized by Metis, with ClawUp, GOAT Network, and LazAI participating as ecosystem partners.
