Metis on Oct. 8 unveiled Metis Rise, a monthly developer incentive program aimed at teams deploying new AI Agents on the Metis Andromeda mainnet. The program is designed to reward projects that do more than ship question-answering agents: it focuses on teams that can attract real users and generate real on-chain economic activity. According to Metis, agents that can get paid, prove identity and build ongoing transaction trust remain limited, and the new program is meant to support experimentation in that area across the Metis ecosystem. Metis said the initiative centers on the "economic usability" of AI Agents, with four areas of focus: payments through x402, identity via ERC-8004, stablecoin escrow, and independently verifiable on-chain signed receipts. To qualify each month, developers must have at least 15 valid monthly active users, while each counted user must either complete at least three qualifying transactions on Metis Andromeda or settle no less than $2 in m.USDC, m.USDT or METIS. The project’s main user trading, settlement volume and gas usage must also occur on the Andromeda mainnet. The program is open to all developers, but only for newly deployed projects on Andromeda.

Metis announced on Oct. 8 that it has launched Metis Rise, a monthly developer incentive program for teams deploying new AI Agents on the Metis Andromeda mainnet. The program targets projects that can bring in real users and produce real on-chain economic activity.

Metis said many teams can already build agents that answer questions, but agents that can get paid, prove their identity and earn continued trust in transactions are still rare. Metis Rise is meant to support developers exploring that gap, help them build new products and drive growth in AI Agent applications across the Metis ecosystem.

Program focus: economic usability for AI Agents

Metis said it is building an execution and data layer for AI Agents. The company added that Andromeda’s decentralized sequencer, DSeq, can remove a single point of failure tied to exchange dependency in trustless transactions between agents.

The program focuses on what Metis described as the “economic usability” of AI Agents, covering four areas:

  • Payments (x402)
  • Identity (ERC-8004)
  • Stablecoin escrow
  • Independently verifiable on-chain signed receipts

Monthly eligibility requirements

To qualify, developers must meet the following conditions each month:

  • At least 15 valid monthly active users
  • Each counted user must complete at least three qualifying transactions on Metis Andromeda, or settle at least $2 in m.USDC, m.USDT or METIS
  • The project’s primary user trading activity, settlement volume and gas consumption must take place on the Metis Andromeda mainnet

Open to all developers, limited to newly deployed projects

The program is open to all developers, but only projects newly deployed on the Andromeda mainnet are eligible. Metis said it supports any AI Agent framework and hosting model, including ClawUp, GOAT AgentKit and self-built backends. It also supports dual-chain architectures based on GOAT Network.

Metis Rise is hosted by Metis, with ClawUp, GOAT Network and LazAI participating as ecosystem partners.
