MEXC has launched perpetual futures tied to gold and silver, together with a limited-time zero trading fee campaign. The exchange framed the release as part of its broader multi-asset trading buildout, which spans crypto, precious metals, U.S. equities, and forex.
Launch comes as precious metals post sharp gains
According to Trading Economics data cited in the release, as of January 21, 2026, international gold prices had climbed to about $4,860, while silver was nearing $94.6. That represented year-over-year increases of 76% for gold and 207% for silver. MEXC said traditional finance still imposes frictions on investors seeking metals exposure, including lengthy account opening, higher transaction costs, limited leverage, and restricted trading hours.
The new perpetual contracts are designed to move that exposure into a crypto-native market structure. MEXC said users would get 24/7 trading, simplified onboarding, and liquidity support, while the zero-fee period is intended to reduce execution costs. The products can be used in both rising and falling markets through futures positioning.
Two tokenized gold contracts are linked to physical bullion
MEXC is offering two physically backed tokenized gold perpetual futures, both quoted in USDT and USDC pairs and both supporting up to 100x leverage. GOLD (XAUT) is based on Tether Gold’s XAU₮ token, where each token represents ownership of one troy ounce of gold held in LBMA-standard London Good Delivery bars. GOLD (PAXG) is based on Pax Gold issued by Paxos Trust Company, with each token also corresponding to one troy ounce of London Good Delivery gold stored in professional vaults in London.
The release described XAUT as a more flexible and liquid option, while PAXG was presented with a compliance angle. Its issuer, Paxos Trust Company, is regulated by the New York State Department of Financial Services.
Silver contract tracks spot prices through oracles
The SILVER (XAG) contract follows international spot silver prices in real time through price oracles. It also supports up to 100x leverage. MEXC said the product combines around-the-clock trading access with liquidity coverage, allowing traders to react to market moves at any hour.
Part of a wider RWA and cross-asset push
MEXC said the listing is another step in its RWA strategy and in its effort to bring multiple asset classes onto one platform. Founded in 2018, the company said it serves more than 40 million users across 170+ countries and regions. The source material also stated that the piece was a press release for informational purposes and not investment advice.
