MEXC has appointed Vugar Usi as chief executive officer, linking the leadership change to its eighth anniversary and a broader brand overhaul. The exchange said the move is meant to support its next phase of international growth, reinforce its user-first approach, and advance what it calls the “Infinite Opportunities” vision.
Leadership change arrives with an anniversary rebrand
In the announcement, MEXC said it has gone through a broad operational transformation over the past year. The company described itself as one of the world’s top five exchanges by trading volume and said it was the fastest-growing exchange in 2025. It cited CoinGecko data showing a 90.9% year-over-year increase. At the same time, MEXC said it strengthened risk controls, expanded transparency across operations, and carried out internal cultural and strategic changes.
Usi previously served as MEXC’s chief operating officer. According to the release, he brings more than a decade of experience in high-growth and transformation roles across Fortune 500 companies and Web3 platforms. The company also highlighted his earlier role in helping scale Bitget into a top-tier exchange. At MEXC, he had been leading work tied to transparency and risk management before taking the CEO post.
MEXC plans to widen its product scope beyond crypto
The company said the “Infinite Opportunities” strategy will extend beyond cryptocurrency trading. MEXC plans to add MT5-based assets and prediction markets, aiming to turn the platform into a single venue for a broader range of trades. It also repeated its commitment to zero-fee trading, saying that model returned more than $1 billion to users over the past year.
In a quoted statement, Usi said MEXC stood out to him even before he joined because the product felt faster, smoother, and more responsive than peers. He also tied the exchange’s user focus to features such as zero-fee trading and decisions that prioritize retail users over institutions. Alongside the management change, MEXC unveiled a new logo. The company said the updated symbol evolves from the letter “M,” reflects the idea of infinity, and can also be read as two zeros tied to its zero-fee commitment.
Compliance, governance, and fund protection are central to the next phase
MEXC said Usi’s public policy background will support its global compliance readiness and regulatory alignment. As the exchange moves into categories including equities and multi-asset derivatives, it plans to formalize higher standards in governance, security, and accountability. The company said its control framework will keep being refined as user needs change, while protection of customer funds will remain non-negotiable.
Under Usi, MEXC said it will scale global operations, deepen regulatory engagement, strengthen risk management, and build out its user-first “trade-everything” platform. The company said it now serves more than 40 million users across 170+ markets and offers access to more than 3,000 digital assets.
