Mezo has pushed the deadline for its Phase II red envelope airdrop campaign by 24 hours, giving participants a final window to unlock more than 19,000 sealed envelopes before the token generation event (TGE).
Red Envelopes Inspired by Lunar New Year
The campaign borrows from the Lunar New Year tradition where red envelopes symbolize gifts and good fortune. Participants who qualified in Phase I received sealed envelopes on February 17. To open one, users must share it on X (formerly Twitter), revealing an initial reward level. From there, further ecosystem interactions can increase the envelope tier.
Four Steps to Maximize Allocation
The platform outlines a clear path: Receive – get a sealed envelope; Reveal – share on X to unseal and see the starting level; Grow – engage in regular on-chain activity to upgrade the envelope; Gift – invite up to eight friends by sending them envelopes, which boosts allocations for both the sender and receiver.
On-Chain Activities That Matter
Users can raise their envelope level by participating in DeFi features: BTC Lock for weekly BTC yields; Supply Liquidity to earn from pools; Vote on Gauges to influence yield mechanisms; Borrow to mint MUSD against collateral; Trade via Swap; and Vaults for yield strategies. These operations form a Bitcoin-based financial ecosystem that lets users borrow, earn, and spend BTC without permission.
Phase II Timeline
Sealed envelopes were distributed on February 17. Gifting opened on February 20. Additional level-up methods were introduced on February 24. Now, the 24-hour extension marks the final stretch before TGE and exchange listings. Envelope levels will carry over into final allocations.
Tokenomics Snapshot
The total supply is 1 billion MEZO: Community gets 40% (airdrops, ecosystem and validator incentives); Investors & Partners hold 30%; Team receives 20%; Basis Foundation controls 10% for development and reserves. Community and foundation tokens unlock at TGE, while team and investor tokens follow a 12-month cliff and 24-month linear vesting schedule.
The extension comes despite reports of temporary site glitches during peak traffic. Nevertheless, it signals strong engagement ahead of the token launch, giving users one last chance to maximize their allocation before TGE.
