Michael Saylor posted his weekly Bitcoin tracker on social media for the 12th consecutive week, but this time with a notable phrase: "Bigger Orange." The hint suggests the next acquisition by Strategy could be larger than the previous one.

Tracker Becomes Market Bellwether

Since November 2025, Saylor's Sunday tracker has become a de facto signal for institutional buying. Strategy typically announces purchases on Mondays. Last week, the firm completed its largest single purchase since July 2025, buying 13,627 BTC for approximately $1.247 billion at an average price of $91,519 per coin.

Record Holdings on the Horizon

As of January 11, Strategy holds 687,410 BTC with a total cost of about $51.8 billion and an average entry price of $75,353 per coin. The company has bought nearly 15,000 BTC so far in 2026. If Saylor's hint materializes, total holdings could surpass 700,000 BTC this week, cementing Strategy's position as the world's largest corporate bitcoin holder.

Funding and Capital Strategy

Strategy raised funds by selling 1,192,262 shares of STRC variable-rate perpetual preferred stock (net ~$119.1 million) and 6,827,695 shares of MSTR Class A common stock (net ~$1.1285 billion). Despite MSTR's share price dropping over 50% from its peak and its market-to-NAV premium falling to ~1.0x, Saylor continues to raise capital through ATM offerings.

Institutional Wave Intensifies

Strategy's accumulation aligns with broader institutional trends. Bitwise projects that nations and institutions will hold 4.269 million BTC by end-2026, with institutional inflows reaching $300 billion. Grayscale's latest outlook cites institutional capital and regulatory tailwinds as catalysts for bitcoin to hit new highs in the first half of 2026. Markets await Strategy's Monday announcement for exact purchase details.
