MicroStrategy's Aggressive Accumulation

MicroStrategy's relentless Bitcoin buying has driven its stock price up over 400% in 2024 and earned it a spot in the Nasdaq 100 Index. The company plans to raise $42 billion over the next three years through debt and equity offerings to further expand its Bitcoin reserves. Saylor remains extremely bullish, predicting Bitcoin could reach $13 million per coin by 2045. This strategy has made MicroStrategy the largest corporate Bitcoin holder by a wide margin.

Global Distribution

Asian companies also feature prominently: Hong Kong's Boyaa holds 3,183 BTC, Japan's Metaplanet has 1,761 BTC, Singapore's Bitdeer owns 508 BTC, and China's Cango holds 364 BTC. Germany's Bitcoin Group SE holds 3,114 BTC. Firms from Australia, Thailand, and Malta also appear, reflecting Bitcoin's global corporate adoption.

Government Bitcoin Reserves

Governments are increasingly accumulating Bitcoin as part of their financial strategies. El Salvador has amassed roughly $600 million in BTC since adopting it as legal tender. According to Arkham Intelligence, the government of Bhutan holds nearly $1.13 billion in Bitcoin. The United States is also considering a strategic bitcoin reserve to enhance economic resilience. This trend underscores a shift toward diversifying reserves amid economic uncertainty and inflation.

With MicroStrategy continuing to buy and more institutions entering the space, corporate Bitcoin holdings are expected to grow further, accelerating the mainstream adoption of digital assets.
