MicroStrategy has expanded its bitcoin treasury once again, adding 2,530 BTC in a purchase worth roughly $243 million. Executive Chairman Michael Saylor announced the acquisition on X, saying the latest buy increases the company’s total bitcoin holdings to 450,000 BTC. The move further strengthens MicroStrategy’s position as the largest corporate holder of bitcoin.
Purchase price and cumulative investment
According to the report, the newly acquired bitcoin was bought at an average price of about $95,972 per BTC. Since launching its bitcoin acquisition strategy in 2020, MicroStrategy has spent a total of roughly $28.2 billion building its position, with an overall average purchase price of approximately $62,691 per bitcoin. The article notes that the company’s total holdings are now valued at more than $28 billion.
The latest transaction reflects the company’s continued commitment to a long-term accumulation model. Despite ongoing volatility in the crypto market, MicroStrategy has maintained its view of bitcoin as a strategic reserve asset rather than a short-term trading position. The company has reported a year-to-date bitcoin yield of 0.32%, highlighting the measured pace of its treasury approach.
Saylor doubles down on the corporate bitcoin thesis
Michael Saylor remains one of the most prominent corporate advocates for bitcoin and has played a central role in shaping MicroStrategy’s treasury strategy. He has repeatedly described bitcoin as a hedge against inflation and a store of value. As institutional interest in bitcoin continues to grow, the company’s latest purchase signals that its conviction in the asset remains intact.
With 450,000 BTC now on its balance sheet, MicroStrategy controls a meaningful share of bitcoin’s total supply. The new acquisition not only extends its lead among corporate holders, but also underscores that the company is still actively pursuing a bitcoin-first capital allocation strategy.
