MicroStrategy, now rebranded as Strategy, has generated approximately $1.8 billion in Bitcoin gains for its shareholders so far this year, while its total Bitcoin holdings have climbed to 478,740 BTC, reinforcing its status as the ultimate Bitcoin stock.

$1.8B Gain for MSTR Shareholders

Executive Chairman Michael Saylor announced on social media platform X on February 11 that Strategy's treasury operations have resulted in a net Bitcoin gain of 18,527 BTC year-to-date, which equates to roughly $1.8 billion in value accretion for MSTR shareholders at current prices. The figure highlights the financial impact of the company's strategy to use Bitcoin as its primary reserve asset.

Bitcoin Holdings and Financial Details

According to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on February 10, Strategy's Bitcoin holdings reached 478,740 BTC, with a net asset value (NAV) of approximately $46.7 billion. The company reported a Bitcoin yield of 74.3% for the full year 2024 and a year-to-date 2025 yield of 4.1%.

In its latest purchase, Strategy acquired 7,633 Bitcoin at an average price of about $97,255 per coin, costing approximately $742.4 million. The acquisition was funded through a combination of stock sales and a preferred stock offering, continuing the company's strategy of tapping capital markets to expand its Bitcoin reserves.

During the fourth-quarter 2024 earnings call, CFO Andrew Kang stated, "The fourth quarter of 2024 marked our largest ever increase in quarterly Bitcoin holdings, culminating in the acquisition of 218,887 Bitcoins acquired for $20.5 billion since the end of Q3." The company credited its capital-raising efforts—including an at-the-market equity offering and convertible note issuances—for fueling the purchases.

Long-Term Price Forecasts and Market Outlook

Michael Saylor also recently outlined his long-term price targets for Bitcoin. His base-case scenario projects Bitcoin reaching $13 million per coin by 2045, with a bear case of $3 million and a bull case of $49 million within the same timeframe. These predictions are based on varying annual growth rates and potential market adoption levels.

As Strategy continues to accumulate Bitcoin aggressively, its stock (MSTR) has become highly correlated with Bitcoin's price, offering investors a popular vehicle for Bitcoin exposure. At press time, Bitcoin was trading near $97,000, and the company's total market capitalization exceeded $80 billion.
