The 37th Golden Melody Awards nomination list drew attention from Taiwan’s crypto community for a reason beyond music charts. Our Shame, an electro-folk duo, received its first nomination for Best Vocal Group with its second album Hidden Album, and one track on that record, Miffy, has become a focal point again. The ceremony is scheduled for June 27 at Taipei Arena.
Miffy was written in memory of Chen Meihui, a virtual asset fund-flow analyst who died in a highway crash in 2024. In Taiwan’s crypto sector, her name remains closely tied to blockchain tracing and investigations into crypto-related crime. The song’s central refrain, “as if there were light,” was taken from words she said during her lifetime.
A song that moved Chen Meihui’s story beyond news coverage
The track was written by Estelle H., known as Xiao Ao, who said she was deeply moved by Chen’s spirit. In her words, even when changing the world is difficult, a brief glimpse of light can still become the force that keeps someone going. That image was placed at the center of the melody, giving the song its emotional anchor.

The album title refers both to the “hidden album” folder on a phone and the idea of a hidden track on a record. Its themes include self-harm, taboo relationships, crypto crime cases and addiction. Contributors named in the report include UK mix engineer Jay Reynolds, Japanese rapper ASOBOiSM, French electronic producer Odd People Club, Grammy mix engineer Brian Elgin from the US, and Taiwanese R&B artist BRADD. Producers Wu Jianlong, Li Wang and Bi Zhanying were also nominated in related categories for the same project.
Why Chen Meihui’s case still resonates in crypto circles
The report describes Chen as both a social activist and one of the few investigators in Taiwan who used crypto fund-flow analysis as a primary tool. She had worked on land justice, judicial reform and protection for fraud victims, while also assisting investigations through on-chain tracing. Among the better-known cases linked to her work were fund-flow tracing in the child sexual exploitation case known as “Creative Private Room” and analysis reports on underground money exchange networks tied to organized crime.

At the time of the incident, Xrex co-founder Huang Yaowen was also in the same vehicle, adding to scrutiny around the case. Taiwan’s Prosecutor General later ordered a thorough investigation. The case has not been fully clarified, but Chen’s reports, her activism, and the phrase “as if there were light” remain embedded in the memory of Taiwan’s crypto community.
For that reason, the nomination of Miffy carries weight beyond the music field. It places Chen Meihui’s story in a public setting far removed from court filings, case reports and blockchain investigation records.
