China has developed nearly 200 artificial intelligence-related standards, according to Xinhua, citing Vice Minister of Industry and Information Technology Xin Guobin. Speaking on Aug. 26 at a State Council Information Office press conference in the "Setting Off for the 15th Five-Year Plan" series, Xin said AI in China has already been applied across much of the industrial chain, including research and design, manufacturing, quality inspection, and operations and maintenance. He also said authorities are organizing multiple cities to carry out AI ethics review and service practice. The remarks outlined both the current application scope of AI and the progress of related standard-setting work.
