MiniMax has formally launched M3.1 Flash and confirmed that the previously anonymous model Space Bunny was an early version of it. According to the company’s disclosure cited by BlockBeats, Space Bunny went live on OpenRouter and OpenCode in late September and has logged more than 200 trillion cumulative token calls, at one point topping the daily usage rankings on both platforms. MiniMax had already released M3.1 Flash Preview on Sept. 27, and has now published the model’s full benchmark results and API pricing.
In MiniMax’s published tests, M3.1 Flash scored 62.2% on Automation-Bench, ahead of DeepSeek V4.1 Flash at 60.5% and Opus 5 at 50.3%. It posted 73.7% on the DeepSWE coding benchmark, close to Opus 5 at 74.0%, and reached 91.0% on BabyVision for visual reasoning. On OSWorld, a computer-use benchmark, the model scored 61.7%, trailing Opus 5’s 70.6%.
MiniMax priced the API at $0.15 per million input tokens, $0.60 per million output tokens, and $0.015 for cached reads. The company said the new model cuts overall cost to about one-third of M3 while raising speed to 3x. M3.1 Flash supports a 1 million-token context window, and its weights are scheduled to be open-sourced on Oct. 23.
