Moonshot AI says K3 demand exceeded expectations, keeps new user sign-ups partially restricted

Moonshot AI said demand following the launch of K3 came in well above earlier expectations, putting the platform under heavy resource pressure and limiting new user registrations. Huang Zhenxin, the company’s head of B-end enterprise business, told the Science and Technology Innovation Board Daily that the team had made advance preparations before launch, but actual demand still outpaced capacity. The company said it is prioritizing service quality for existing paying users and will not fully reopen registrations for new users for now if that would come at the expense of the current user experience. To ease the strain, Moonshot AI is working on model efficiency improvements and adding computing capacity. The company said the timing for a broader recovery will be announced separately based on available resource reserves.
