According to monitoring by Arkham, the defunct cryptocurrency exchange Mt. Gox executed a transfer of 10,422.65 BTC from its cold wallet on June 2, carrying a market value of more than $739 million at the time. The vast majority of these funds were moved to a newly created wallet that had not previously appeared in on-chain flow analysis, while 116.3 BTC were routed to a known Mt. Gox hot wallet address.

No subsequent movement indicated that the exchange sold any of the transferred bitcoin or that a new round of creditor repayments has begun. The repayment process has been repeatedly delayed due to unresolved verification procedures across multiple jurisdictions, prompting the liquidation trustee to extend the final deadline to October 31, 2026.

Mt. Gox still controls approximately 35,000 BTC locked in its cold wallets, equivalent to roughly $2.4 billion based on current prices. The sheer size of this holding makes it a potential liquidity event in the future, but no signs suggest an imminent distribution or sell-off.
