TradingBeats data showed the storage sector had not seen any newly opened, still-active directional positions worth more than $1 million earlier this week. That changed on Sept. 3, as large capital flows appeared in MU and SNDK ahead of the U.S. initial jobless claims release and Friday’s nonfarm payrolls data. The tracker recorded three $1 million-level increases from early addresses and two new $1 million-level positions. The new positions were both long: one address began an 8-hour MU TWAP buy program, while another opened a roughly $1.33 million 2x leveraged long in SNDK. On the order-book side, the largest directional order across the storage market is currently in SNDK, while buy interest remains placed below the market in MU.

BlockBeats reported on Sept. 3 that, according to TradingBeats monitoring, the storage sector had not seen any newly opened and still-held directional positions worth more than $1 million earlier this week. That shifted today as large fund movements appeared in MU and SNDK ahead of U.S. initial jobless claims data due tonight and nonfarm payrolls data due tomorrow night.

TradingBeats recorded three $1 million-level position increases from early addresses and two new $1 million-level positions during the day. The added positions included two SNDK longs from addresses beginning 0xcd98 and 0x519c, and one MU short from an address beginning 0x7fda. The sizes ranged from $1 million to $1.3 million.

Both new positions are long

Among the two new $1 million-level positions, an address beginning 0x469e started an 8-hour MU TWAP buy program at 10:00 today. About 4,903 units have been executed so far, with completion at roughly 83.7% and an average execution price of $954.12. The current MU long tied to that address is worth about $4.659 million, with an unrealized loss of about $19,300.

The other new position came from an address beginning 0xc3b, which opened a roughly $1.33 million SNDK long using 2x leverage. Its average entry price was about $1,547, and the position is currently showing an unrealized loss of about $9,000.

Largest directional order in storage is in SNDK

Large order planning had also been placed in advance on the order-book side. The biggest directional order across the entire storage market currently comes from SNDK. An address beginning 0x0ad9 holds about $10.7 million in SNDK longs and placed a sell order for 2,962.7 units at $1,608 at 00:36 today. The order carries a notional value of about $4.764 million, enough to cover about 42.7% of the current position, and the order price sits about 4.3% above the current market price.

For MU, funds are still waiting below the market to go long. An address beginning 0xf517 had previously placed 48 buy orders between $822 and $887.52, totaling about $1.152 million. Another address beginning 0x12f7 placed a buy order worth about $947,000 at $890 on Wednesday, around 6.5% away from the current price.
