According to TechFlow on June 18, Elon Musk responded to a community question on X about when China would reach Fable-level AI. His answer was brief: “Possibly Q1.” The reply placed Musk’s comment within an ongoing discussion about China’s AI model progress and the timeline for a level referred to as Fable.

The discussion followed an earlier post by X user Teortaxes, who said GLM 5.2 currently appears to be about seven months behind frontier models. Teortaxes described the model as broadly being around the Opus 4.7–4.8 level, using that comparison to characterize where GLM 5.2 stands relative to leading AI systems.

Teortaxes also stated that Mythos had reached Preview status in early February 2026, and that the full PRC Mythos, referred to as “Fable,” could be released between November and December 2026. Musk’s “possibly Q1” response became the central point of the community exchange reported by TechFlow.
