NAT (DMT-NAT) has officially landed on Spider Pool, the world's fifth-largest Bitcoin mining pool. Miners can now receive NAT rewards concurrently within the same block while mining BTC, unlocking a dual-reward era for the industry.
Dual Mining Mechanism: Shared Hashrate, Zero Extra Effort
According to the project, NAT shares hashrate, blocks, and addresses with Bitcoin. Miners need no additional configuration or actions to start earning NAT alongside BTC. The asset is produced every 10 minutes in sync with Bitcoin blocks, yielding approximately 386 million NAT per block, with a total market value of around $38 million. The emission rate will gradually decrease as block height and mining difficulty increase. The code is fully open-source.
How Dual Mining Cuts Costs for Miners
The project states that NAT helps lower mining costs incrementally. When the per-block reward reaches $50,000, NAT can cover part of miners' expenses; at $500,000 per block, it fully addresses Bitcoin's security budget concerns. This dynamic could create a virtuous cycle: NAT appreciation → miner revenue growth → hashrate expansion → BTC price rise, injecting fresh momentum into Bitcoin mining.
