NEAR co-founder Illia Polosukhin said at the 2026 Digital Asset Summit in Singapore on Oct. 7 that expanding onchain tools are making centralized exchanges less necessary for many crypto activities. He said near.com now brings cross-chain spot trading, tokenized stocks, yield products, and perpetual contracts into one interface, while the platform is also working on bank withdrawals, tax transaction records, and selective disclosure for private transactions. Polosukhin added that more fiat-related features are on the way.
He said NEAR has partnered with Monerium to let users convert between euros held in bank accounts and EURe through IBAN, with the longer-term goal of enabling "any asset to any asset" swaps through NEAR Intents. He also said near.com began offering tokenized stocks after integrating Ondo Finance in September and plans to add equities from more markets globally. On AI, Polosukhin said, "AI is the frontend, blockchain is the backend." He added that NEAR's Agent Market extends the intents model to natural-language tasks, allowing users to describe what they want while the platform finds agents that can execute the job, with funds held in escrow and released after completion and verification.
